Whinny Crying Snowflakes

They still refuse to grasp reality and admit Hillary lost. President Obama said she was on the right side of history! So they comfort themselves with alt-reality fairy tales about how Russian Spymaster Boris Badinoff “infiltrated” and “hacked” the election with “fake news” while Steve Bannon rallied the millions of Klan voters.

Like a poo-throwing child in a tantrum, they fling blame in all dirctions: Racism, sexism, old white people, that recently-uncovered secret cabal called the Electoral College…”

White Out

colored-only

You can’t make this up. At San Fransisco State University (ah San Fran, that bastion of conservative staunchness) all Black Dorms are now the thing. Yeah, imagine the WASP contingency trying that. They claim that anyone can live in the Dorms. But they want a Afro themed “safe space” Maybe they need to chug over to mamby pamby land.

Maybe the entire delegation of Bubbas need to apply for a room. As usual the comments on the attached article are the best part.

Good God Charlie Brown

Every time you turn around the Christian god is being besieged in America. Before we founded our great nation, most people only believed in the divine right of kings; the idea that God only gave power to kings and those kings were accountable to no one.
But what made America unique was that it was founded on divine providence.
Remember the term “endowed by their creator” in the Declaration of Independence? That was a revolutionary conceptat the time and it means that God actually had a hand in the world’s greatest experiment in democracy.

Although America boasts 300,000 churches, we still abort millions of babies, homosexuality is becoming normalized, drug use is rampant, unwed pregnancies have reached 70% … the list goes on and on and on.

I can’t believe I used to be apart of a once great organization, The United States Air Force, especially when they do something as egregious as they did a few months back. Military unit patches often use Latin phrases on them. One that included the Latin phrase that translated to “Doing Miracles with Other People’s Money”. Yup you guessed it. Atheists! Damn atheists protested and the Air Forced removed the patch so not as to offend them. Here’s something, I’m offended because they removed the reference of God!! I truly don’t understand how atheists can be offended by something they don’t even think is real. I don’t believe in Fairies but you don’t see me protesting Walt Disney to remove images of Tinkerbell.

Now here’s one. A Massachusetts school, Brook Elementary School in Bellingham removed the word God from Lee Greenwood’s hit song “God Bless the USA“. They played this at every unofficial Military event, sporting event and civic gathering during the late 80’s and early 90’s. It is even played at every naturalization ceremony right after the National Anthem. I know, they played it at Mrs. Bigdawg’s citizenship ceremony in a Federal courthouse.

Now here’s a good one. A group of Muslims are complaining that they are contently being bombarded by Christian religious symbols such as crosses at , get ready for this, the Catholic University. Why the hell are a bunch of Muslims attending a Catholic university in the first place.? I think we are seeing good Christian values just for not kicking the ever loving crap out of them. I mean what would happen if a group of Catholic students went to the University of Islamic Studies Karachi , Pakistan and demanded crosses to be placed for them? I’m thinking beheading video at ten o’clock on the Al-Jazeerra network.

If God doesn’t smite Washington, D.C. soon, then he owes Sodom and Gomorrah an apology. Last Thanksgiving, President Obama did not include any reference to God during his weekly address titled, “On Thanksgiving, Grateful for the Men and Women Who Defend Our Country” His remarks were void of any religious references although Thanksgiving is a holiday traditionally steeped in giving thanks and praise to God. He left any mention of the divine out, but included our military. But on Memorial day Michelle Obama and Labor Secretary Hilda Solis has authorized new posters featuring first lady Michelle Obama to be placed in elevators throughout the Department of Labor headquarters in Washington, D.C. Not a single troop is pictured but her.

No Habla Espanol

On Sunday the Obama White House administration rushed to call Afghanistan president Hamid Karzai condolences for the alleged shooting of civilians by a U.S. service member. Obama stated to him that no effort would be spared to gather facts and hold those responsible fully accountable under the law. The incident in question accuses one lone US service member of walking into Afghanistan homes and shooting down a conflicted number of civilians, including nine children and three women. I say conflicting because when reporters showed up, they were shown burned bodies under blankets. Why were the bodies of a shooting burnt? The accused was a regular soldier in support of a special ops unit. If he did this , I hope he gets everything he has coming to him. But let me stress one thing, He acted alone.

Someone who did not act alone was Eric Holder. President Barack Obama has never apologized to Mexican President Felipe Calderon for the 300 civilians murdered with weapons the United States provided to Mexico’s drug cartels. 300 civilians and one American border Patrol agent Brian Terry. When asked the White House on Sunday March 11why Obama hasn’t similarly apologized to Calderon for the murders that resulted from the U.S. policy of providing weapons to the Mexican cartels. Obama spokesman Eric Schultz did not answer.

Mr. Obama, if you want to get the facts as quickly as possible and to hold accountable anyone responsible in Afghanistan, don’t you support the same goal in regards to Operation Fast and Furious?

Payback is a Bitch

Last Friday the website Techdirt posted a story about how Chris Dodd ex senator and CEO of the Motion Picture Association of America issued treats to politicians who had taken money from Hollywood, but refused to pass SOPA/PIPA. His sin is that he talked about what everybody knew. If you receive money from donators then you are expected to return favorable legislation in return. Chris Dodd went on Fox News threatening politicians who receive MPAA donations. Dodd said: “Those who count on quote ‘Hollywood’ for support need to understand that this industry is watching very carefully who’s going to stand up for them when their job is at stake. Don’t ask me to write a check for you when you think your job is at risk and then don’t pay any attention to me when my job is at stake,” This sparked an outrage a petition went up at the White House’s We The People site. It asks for a federal investigation of Dodd and the MPAA to see if they were “bribing” public officials. When I went to sign it had over 25,000 signatures on it. He is barred from becoming a lobbyist until 2013 but it seems like he’s acting as one now. It seems you can’t find a reliable crooked politician anywhere these days Politico Techdirt Tell the White House You’re Mad as Hell

Greed Incorprated

Bank Fees Gone Wild

Seems that bank fees are going up. Prompted by a new federal regulation starting October 1st limiting the cut banks can take from merchants at the point of sale. To offset this many of the country’s largest banks will be sticking it to the average Joe more and more.

The Greedy Gets Greedier

Bank of America will increase it’s monthly checking rate around 25 percent to $12. And they will impose a five dollar monthly fee for using debit cards to make purchases. Starting next year they will roll out a new program that has monthly charges mandated even if they maintain a minimum balance amount or by using direct deposits. A work colleague of who used BoA tells me that they impose a monthly saving charge on him. A savings fee? They are charging customers for the privilege of using their money as investment capital. You want to talk to a real live teller? That’s going to run you 9 dollars more a month. Chase Bank will start charging their new customers 100 percent more in monthly checking account fees. They are also testing a five dollar ATM fee for non customers. Citigroup announced earlier this month that it would charge customers a $10 monthly fee if their account drops below $1500.

What to Do?

You can do what I’ve always done. Move your money to smaller community based banks and credit unions. These banks (and credit unions) draw the majority of their proceeds from the individual customer. Credit unions especially are member owned and members decide what fees are fair. Not some faceless board of directors a thousand miles away. All through the financial crisis of 2008 my credit union remained fiscally sound. They are investing local member money and cannot take risky chances.

In fact a few years ago, I noticed my 5 dollar monthly checking fee wasn’t being withdrawn anymore. When I inquired about it, yeah I know a real person free of charge, they told me once I turned 50 the account was free. I begged them to charge me the fee but they were having none of it. They called me sir, offered me a lollipop and sent me on my way.

Several years ago during one of my PCS moves I ran out of checks due to several check issuing Snafu’s. My bank was a thousand miles away. I was getting paid through direct deposit but couldn’t access any of it. I vowed then I was always going to be able to walk up to a teller and lay hands on my funds right there.

During the savings and loan fiasco of the early 80s, I being a brand new military member with less than a year of employment, could not secure a car loan anywhere. It was a local credit union in my hometown that came through. The VP of the credit union talked to me face to face. Being a retired GI he understood the relative low pay. He also understood that room and board wasn’t a issue either. ( Barracks and chow hall). That’s something a big national corporate bank would never have done.

Netfraks

No Sir I Don’t Like It

Monday I received an Email from Reed Hastings, CEO of Netflix. He announced that Netflix was going to split into two separate companies. Netflix being the streaming company and Qwikster being the DVD company. While he says the price will be the same, there will be two separate bills. And this includes two separate websites. Good god man, leave it alone. What about the needs of the customer? That’s what is missing here. Two separate lists? Many, many films that are not available to stream have to be on your DVD list. I don’t want to have two separate lists on distinct sites to update and cross-reference. Streaming and DVD service may be two different services for Netflix but for the customer, they are largely one in the same — access to films. If I can stream it, great, but if not, send me the DVD. Until all the films are available to stream , this doesn’t make sense. The new pricing structure was dumb, this is dumber. At last count on the Netflix blog there are about 25,000 negative posts. Maybe Netflix will see how they pissed off/on their customers and do a 180. I don’t need a DVD company or a streaming company. I need a movie company. With so much of the internet and companies touting integration this move seems like Netflix is taking a giant step backwards. This is like  if Amazon removed the 1-click buying button.

Up to Date

By now I’m sure you are aware of the operation Fast and Furious debacle. In case you haven’t surfaced from Dancing With the Stars, Survivor or Two and a Half Men long enough to catch some headlines, let me offer a quick refresher. Between the fall of 2009 into late 2010 the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms launched an operation to permit otherwise-suspected straw buyers to purchase weapons in the United States then transport them to Mexico , to build cases against Mexican drug cartels. The operation ended in December 2010 with the death of a US border agent, Brian Terry. Two of the guns known to have been purchased in the operation was found at his murder scene. Out of 2000 guns released by the ATF only 600 of them have been recovered. Leaving 1400 unaccounted for. Probably into drug cartel hands.

Announcement

The Los Angeles Times reported last week that William G. McMahon, William D. Newell and David Voth, three key supervisors in the Phoenix-run investigation that went awry, were promoted to management positions at the ATF’s Washington headquarters. The agency’s acting director, Kenneth E. Melson, told the Oversight and Government Reform Committee staff that the jobs were not considered promotions because no one got a raise. AFT said in its statement: “Media reports inaccurately characterized personnel changes “as promotions.”

Shut Up and Color

At first I was outraged when I read this. But then after a couple of drinks and a couple of days I looked at it in a different light. In the military there is the inside joke that when a high ranking commander gets fired, especially failing a major Inspector General inspection, that he gets a headquarters assignment. Now this isn’t a fast track assignment. It’s an assignment to quietly finish a career. Too close to retirement to get separated. They are given a desk and a position with no authority. They get a box of crayons, a coloring book, maybe a phone and are told to shut up, color and don’t make waves. I

have seen this happen to senior enlisted. We called them ROAD sergeants. (Retired On Active Duty) This may be the case on these ATF agents.

I don’t know. But that’s how bureaucracies work. Let them retire because to fire them would create unwanted attention.
